Joe's Arcade Machine |
|
My New Machine I had called around looking for an arcade cabinet I could get cheap or free. I called a local shop near my house and asked if they had any empty cabinets they wanted to get rid of. The guy in the repair department said he didn't have anything and told me to check back because he would gut a cabinet once in a while. Well, I tried some other places and nobody had one they wanted to get rid of. About a month later, I stopped by the local arcade shop again and the guy again said that he didn't have any. But then he thought for a moment and remembered a cabinet they had in the way back. We went back there and in the corner, all full of dust and dirt, was a gutted cabinet. He said 'You can have that one if you want'. I was pumped. I called my brother and had him bring his truck to help me get it home. We loaded it up and brought it home. It was very dirty and there were a few pieces still in it. No control panel, no monitor but it did have a coin door and the monitor glass. For free, I wouldn't and couldn't complain. I tore everything out and started cleaning. I had to put a new base on it, new speakers and new locks on the coin door and the back door. Then I started to build a base for the monitor and modify my current stand alone control panel to fit. Here are the pictures. |
